: my favourite album by machine girl, followed by biyaaheysf. .
: The Ugly Art is one of the heaviest, loudest and wildest album the band has ever made. And sadly criminally underrated.
:The album itself is very short, you can listen to it fully in like under an hour as it only contains 16 tracks. I would highly reccomend to hear you for yourself, the whole album is free on both bandcamp and youtube.
The ugly art mainly centres about embracing the "ugly" parts of yourself and "reject your humanity in the end of the world".
:A decent man is my favourite song from this album, it's 10 minutes long. Making it one of the longests song the band has ever made.
: The song is very loud, in my opinion it might be one of their rawest tracks with "Dread Architech" and "Necro Culture vulture". But it has sections where the vocals cut-off and the song is carried by the instrumental, is not as intense as the vocals but you can still feel that sense of dread in the beeping sound that accompanies the whole song.
: By almost the end of the song during the last vocal part, Matt Stephenson sing "I was a secret man, never a decent man". This refers to the things the protagonist of the song hides away from everyone, the ugly parts of himself as the album narrates making him a "secrets man".
: The music ends abruptly at 9:44, followed by only silence and the quiet howling of what sounds like wind? it's weird to describe.
The cut is very abrupt, my headphones are weird and randomly pauses anything they reproduce, so the first time I heard this song I thought my headphones paused the song, then I was confused about the fact the song just ends like that.
DUDE (1977) GIF BY "@felanity" ON TUMBLR BTW!
That stupid Dude gif has become a test/placeholder image for my webpage.
I become attached to it so, he's going to stay in the shrine. If you click it you'll get redirected to a fire animation.
I can justify it's existence to be here; through the whole album there's alot of references.
For example in the song "Fuck puppet" there's multiple samples from the movie "Pinocchio 964", the song "congratulations" is (probably) inspired by the ending of Evangelion the refrain repeating through the whole song, In the song "Fuck your guns" we hear the phrase "going postal sucks." that's totally a postal reference and i'm totally not reaching there.
Also, the band is named after the movie "Machine Girl". It's full on youtube and internet archive. I haven't watched it.
