machine girl

Machine girl is my favourite band of all time; I constantly visit genius to learn about the meaning behind the song, I use bandcamp and soundcloud to listen to their exclusive releases, I heard dread architect before they release it, I heard many unreleased tracks etc!! They're so important to me. My favourite album is "The Ugly Art".

I personally adore their more rage filled songs but I can understand why others only listen to the neon white ost/WLFGIRL. Though the band is definitely not for everyone, they're the most mainstream digital hardcore band (outside of Atari teenage riot). With currently over 1 million listeners on spotify as of now.

I have a whole (underconstruction) page dedicated to the ugly art, click this image to learn more about that album: little shit

Machine girl also had an arg called Piper/Psychowarrior, it was a complex story that developed mainly on discord (I don't have discord so idk much about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). The newest album and the Dread Architect music video is the conclusion to the arg. This is their website: little shit There's more stuff to this arg, I reccomend you to do your own research about it. This is a link to the arg yt channel ^_^!.

Another thing that I find interesting about Machine girl as a band, is that every album follows a theme or similar sound; for example wlfgrl is basically an ode to the film Ginger Snaps with multiple samples from that movie. The ugly art is about embracing the ugly parts of yourself etc...
I like how machine girl definitely has something to say with each track, I really reccomend reading stuff from genius if you care about the meaning behind every song.

TALKING ABOUT SONGS I LIKE.

: Sick!!!

: There's two interpretations of this song, I really like the two. Genius users are convinced the song is about the alt-right pipeline, how the internet feeds on hate speech and how algorithms can radicalize our beliefs. The whole album criticize the dystopia we currently live in, so this interpretation is completely feasible.
However, I like to think that instead of being a metaphor for this mind poison it's more literal. There's a rise in diseases, companies rather blame the consumer for global warming instead of taking accountability, there's microplastic running in our blood we are literally getting sicker. The song also is being told through a very pesimistic outlook on life which makes me think this sickness is not only physical but also talking about our mental health declining due to the hell-escape we live in.

ROACH ON DOPE.

: This is about taking drugs and (probably) having a bad trip. The song is loud and chaotic, I like how the song goes quiet for the chorus almost as the narrator is slowly coming to their senses?. Idk this one is likely about addiction and having to take higher doses to feel the effects of the drug due to dependency. A line that makes me think this is; "Rinse and Repeat until the day I die or blackout". The MC might feel trapped inside their own addiction, even when it doesn't even bring them the same satisfaction anymore.

:Fully in it

HOLY SHITTTTT PLEASE JUST LISTEN TO THIS SONG.

Hidden Power (∞ x 235BPM Mix)

Being from the Gemini album, this track is only instrumetal.
I showed it to my dad once and he told me; "that's just noise". That's the point! I love how the song feels chaotic without actually needing to be loud like other Machine girl tracks. Despite being a fast song, I find it oddly relaxing instead!

IT TAKES A NATION OF MILLENIALS TO DESTROY A NATION OF MILLIONS…

"This is a war against a dying breed"

Just like "A decent man" wraps up everything the album has to say ITANOMTDANOM is a culmination of the themes of rebellion and rage of "...Because I'm young, arrogant and I hate everything you stand for".
The song talks about how older generations fucked up the world and not only place the blame but shame younger generations for being unable to function in this awful world.
One of my favourite lines in the song is:
"Up to his neck in the sand, with the tide's coming in. He's paying you to dig him out. Minimum wage, fuck the charade. Shove your foot into his mouth."
This reinforce the main idea of going against authority, the man in the sand is possibly a CEO or any other billionaire dipshit (dipshit and billionaire are basically synonyms but whatever :P) The sand is symbolic of his work, the man is paying you to do his work for you.
Machine girl encourages the listener to let the man drown because even if they don't like to admit it, without their workers rich CEOs are nothing.
This imagery is specially powerful after hearing about figures like Jeff Bezos forcing their workers to pee on bottles, to work in inhumane condictions and being a manchild.
Or the fact that Elon Musk is now a trillionaire; despite that there's no ethical way to be a trillionaire, the media doesn't talk about how this wealth comes from explotation and if he (hypothetical) wanted to he could solve world hunger.
MG also talks about how older generations made it harder for older generations to succeed, then tell us to not only suck it up but that it's our fault. How the old generations hold their harmful archaic beliefs in a pedastal and criticize any sight of progession.
I fucking love this song. I could go on for forever.

IGNORE THE VORE.

I can't wait when the generative ai market crashes down so bad that makes investors piss themselve and projectile vomit violently everywhere when they only think about ever puting their money into anything generative AI related. To the point people preffer to wrongfully use terms like "Machine learning" to avoid any ties to ai and we delete generative ai from everything ever.

thing

I like how fetishistic cannibalism is used as a metaphor for generative ai, not only it eats away everything it cans but most ai is actually trained on porn. And most chatbot are used for sexual roleplay.
Phrases like "Do you wanna feel like me? Do you wanna see into the abyss?" reminds me of how ai is being shoved down our throats, portraying it as something we must need that we could feel "relieved" from our stressful life by letting a robot do our jobs and schoolwork. Failing to understand that pleasure and job can coexist.
I have so much thoughts about this song and AI will update later.

SAMPLED BY MACHINE GIRL !

The Ginger Snaps trilogy is commonly sampled by machine girl, mainly in the album WLFGRL. Almost all the songs in that album have atleast one Ginger Snaps sample lol.
"who did machine girl sample" "machine girl!" The band name comes from this movie. Mg1 is basically multiple samples from this movie to make out some sort of dialogue.
I want to watch this so badly. Anyways, sampled in Infinite Potentiality.
Dog eats the ketchup, sampled in the song "bullet hell".
Sampled in Cloud99 from the gemeni album, uhh you should listen to that album.
